SCAPE (Southwest Colorado Accelerator Program for Entrepreneurs) was busy this week interviewing a dozen applicants for the upcoming 2016 program. As many as four companies will be selected to join the accelerator to begin in early 2016.
SCAPE is an intensive 6 month program which provides selected ventures access to an equity investment, office space, mentoring and a proven curriculum that prepares the entrepreneurs to go-to-market, raise financing, and follow-up support after “graduation”.
With a primary goal of driving economic development in the region, through a diversified economy and better paying jobs, SCAPE provides access to funding, resources and education for start-ups and early stage ventures.
The program is supported by local investors and mentors as well as the La Plata Economic Development Alliance, Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado, the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade, Small Business Development Center of SW Colorado, City of Durango, and many local banks and businesses.
